New strategic plan for Lethbridge County

A new Strategic Plan has been approved for Lethbridge County.  At today’s Council meeting, the 2022-2032 plan was adopted by Council to act as a guide for the County moving forward.

Created after planning sessions with Council and Senior Leadership, the Strategic Plan outlines the County’s vision statement, as well as four goals that Council will strive to accomplish over the next decade.

The vision statement is “Lethbridge County is Canada’s most innovative rural community.“

From this statement, the four goals include:

• Governance: providing responsible governance, including policies that guide operations to enhance the County
• Relationships: building strong relationships with our internal and external stakeholders strengthens the broader community
• Region: We are a versatile region where all stakeholders are able to thrive
• Prosperity: Lethbridge County fosters an environment that will encourage investment in innovation and technology

“The Strategic Plan gives us purpose and a set of goals that Council has collectively agreed on,” says Reeve Tory Campbell.  “This is the vision for the future of Lethbridge County and a guide for how we will get there.  Every decision we make at a Council meeting will be driven by this document, ensuring we are acting in the best interests of our citizens and businesses.”

“The Strategic Plan gives clarity to staff so that we can perform our implementation of service provision in a way that best reflects Council’s vision for Lethbridge County,” says CAO, Ann Mitchell.  “We are mindful of our responsibility to provide excellent municipal services to County citizens and the Strategic Plan helps direct our time and resources for the benefit of all.”
