Stockade receives facelift thanks to community groups

The City of Swift Current and Community Services Division would like to send a sincere thank you to the Swift Current Soccer Association and the JR Sundogs Volleyball Club for their generous contributions to the Stockade at Kinetic Park.

“Contributions from community organizations and facility users allow additional improvements to the park and benefit all users of the facility. These improvements and amenities would not have been possible without their support,” said General Manager of Community Services, Jim Jones.

The Community Services Division used these funds to help with the purchasing of the new floor and add the following amenities to the Stockade at Kinetic Park:

•             Safety netting

•             Water bottle fill station

•             Wheelchair friendly ramps for floor access

•             Four tip-up rolling bleachers

•             New divider netting allowing the gym to be split into four sections

These contributions will enhance the overall experience at the Stockade for all rentals in the future and the City is thrilled to welcome these changes. The City is looking forward to another exciting winter season and welcoming many athletes, coaches, and spectators back to the building.

As a thank you for their contributions, a new chloroplast sign will be hung in the Stockade to thank these community groups.
