Accidental release of raw sewage Oct. 15 due to power supply malfunction

There was an accidental release of raw sewage from the wastewater system’s main lift station in the early morning hours on Oct 15th, due to a power supply malfunction.

It affected an area at the Elmwood Golf Course and the issue has been resolved.

Downstream Swift Current Creek users (east of Swift Current), please be advised to exercise caution, avoid drinking from or swimming in the creek.

An update will be shared when provincial lab results are available later in the week. The City of Swift Current apologizes for any inconvenience.
