ChinookSD Sports: basketball draw revised

The SWAC Senior basketball league was put on hold due to midterms and finals. 

Senior league games scheduled for Tuesday, February 1 have SCCHS Junior Colt/Arden teams traveling to Maple Creek to take on their senior teams. 

SWAC Senior basketball league standings (with 4 make up games to be scheduled).

Shaunavon girls 2-0, SCCHS Jr Arden 1-0, Maple Creek girls 0-2.

Shaunavon boys 3-0, Maple Creek boys 1-2, SCCHS Jr Colts 0-3.

Our SWAC junior boy basketball league had one make-up game this past week. SCCHS grade 9 beat the Shaunavon junior boys (71 to 31). 

We’ve had to revise the junior league draw. The next junior league action is Thursday, February 3 with Shaunavon traveling to Maple Creek. Thursday, February 10 SCCHS gr 9 will host Maple Creek. League semifinal (#3 at #2) is Thursday, February 17. League final is slated for Thursday, March 3.

Junior Boys Basketball League Standings: SCCHS grade 9 (3-0), Maple Creek (1-1), Shaunavon (0-3)

SWAC senior curling playoffs will feature a mixed event with the teams from Ponteix, Hazlet and SCCHS taking part. That event will take place on February 12 in Ponteix. Two mixed teams will advance to SHSAA Regionals hosted by Swift Current. The Fox Valley girl and SCCHS boy teams will automatically advance. Please note all our senior curling district and regional playoffs are in a double vaccinated only facility.

Junior curling team entries will be finalized on Monday, January 31. Sectional playoffs will be organized and sent out to schools this week.
