SWAC slowly gets back into action

On behalf of SWAC, Happy New Year! To all our school sport enthusiasts.

The SWAC basketball leagues started up the first week back.  The junior boys league game between Swift Current and Frontier was postponed. Maple Creek Jr boys won against the host Shaunavon Shadows 48-30.

In senior league action, Maple Creek senior girls and boys traveled to Swift Current to take on the Jr Colt and Arden teams.

The Maple Creek boys team came away with a 73-47 win.  Top scorer from Maple Creek was Logan Bauer. SCCHS top scorer was Duncan Gevana. The SC Jr Ardens defeated the Maple Creek Sr girls’ team 95-22.  Top scorers from SCCHS were Amryne Duncalfe and Kylee Michaluk.  Top scorers from Maple Creek were Sierra Frey, Taylor Smith, Olivia Parsonage.

Junior boys league games scheduled for Thursday, Jan 13: Frontier boys will travel to Shaunavon, and Maple Creek will host SC Gr 9 boys.

Senior girls/boys league games scheduled for Tuesday, January 11 have the Shaunavon Shadows/Silhouettes traveling to Maple Creek to take on the senior Rebels/Rebelles.

Senior curling teams must be entered by Wednesday, January 12.  After that date, plans for any playoffs prior to districts will be arranged. Junior curling team entries are due Monday, January 31.
