Okotoks RCMP investigate break and enter to local business

On April 8, at approximately 3:06 a.m. Okotoks RCMP responded to a break and enter at a local business on Southridge Drive. The suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of goods including a number of firearms.

Subsequent to police attendance, a suspect vehicle was located attempting to leave the area. Police stopped the vehicle and arrested the four occupants without incident. All stolen firearms were recovered by Police.

As a result of the investigation, Curtis David Lacey (33), a resident of Waterton Park, has been charged with the following:

• Break and Enter and Commit Theft

• Break and Enter to Steal Firearms

• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

• Possession of Break-in Instruments

• Disguise with Intent to Commit Offence

• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Fentanyl

• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Methamphetamine.

Dustin Edward Wood (42), a resident of Calgary, has been charged with the following:

• Break and Enter and Commit Theft

• Break and Enter to Steal Firearms

• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

• Possession of Break-in Instruments

• Disguise with Intent to Commit Offence

• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Fentanyl

• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Methamphetamine

• Failing to Comply with a release order condition

Kari Holtz (36), a resident of Calgary, has been charged with the following:

• Break and Enter and Commit Theft

• Break and Enter to Steal Firearms

• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

• Possession of Break-in Instruments

• Disguise with Intent to Commit Offence

• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Fentanyl

• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Methamphetamine

Chassidy Larsen (37), a resident of Calgary, has been charged with the following:

• Break and Enter and Commit Theft

• Break and Enter to Steal Firearms

• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

• Possession of Break-in Instruments

• Disguise with Intent to Commit Offence

• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Fentanyl

• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Methamphetamine

All four individuals were held for a Judicial Interim Hearing. Lacey was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Okotoks Provincial Court on April 14, 2023.  Wood was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Cochrane Provincial Court on April 11, 2023. Larsen and Holtz were released from custody and are both scheduled to appear in Okotoks Provincial Court on May 5, 2023.
