Nanton and Fort Macleod RCMP officers respond to separate motor vehicle fatalities

On Jan. 14, 2023, Nanton RCMP responded to a report of a deceased male outside the Nanton and District Lions Campground on Highway 550. Investigation revealed that the male was ejected from a single vehicle rollover collision with the vehicle being located nearby. The deceased has been identified as a 40-year-old resident of Calgary. A search of the area was completed with no other victims being located. Officers remained on scene for several hours while a traffic analyst attended to support the investigation.

The investigation into the circumstances of this collision continues.utside the Nanton and District Lions Campground on Highway 533 East. Fort Macleod RCMP on scene of serious motor vehicle collision – Update

On Jan. 15, 2023, at 7:34 a.m.,  Fort Macleod RCMP received  a report of a serious injury motor vehicle collision on Highway 3, 9 Kilometers West of Fort Macleod. Upon arrival, the driver of one of the vehicles, who has been identified as a 26-year-old resident of Okotoks, was deceased. 3 other individuals including a 5-year-old child were taken to hospital with various serious injuries. Officers remain on scene investigating the circumstances of this event.

Although unclear what circumstances it played in the collision, officers report heavy fog in the area.
