Lethbridge Police charge two males in connection with an assault

Lethbridge Police have charged two males with multiple offences in connection with an assault Wednesday.

Police responded to a report of a 19-year-old male being assaulted by two unknown males in the 2000 block of 2 Avenue North. At approximately 4:15 p.m. on June 29, 2022 the victim was approached by the males and asked for cigarettes. When he declined they subsequently assaulted him. The subjects were located nearby and were taken into custody after a brief struggle with police. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries that did not require medical treatment.

The two Lethbridge males were both charged with: assault; assaulting a peace officer; resisting arrest; obstructing a peace officer; and failure to comply with an undertaking. Kendall Sonny Thomas Holloway, 36, was released from custody with a scheduled court appearance of Aug. 24, 2022. James Joseph Smith, 35, remains in custody while awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
