Alberta RCMP Major Crimes investigate suspicious death on the Siksika Nation

On Feb. 27, at 9:02 a.m., Gleichen RCMP responded to a 911 report of an unresponsive female at a residence on the Siksika Nation.

An adult female was located deceased in the residence.  The initial investigation indicates that the circumstances surrounding the death are suspicious.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit was called in to assist and has taken carriage of the investigation. The RCMP Forensic Identification Section has also been called into assist.

An autopsy has been ordered by the office of the Chief Medical Examiner and will be conducted later this week.

The next-of-kin has been notified. 

An update will be provided when further details can be released.
