Police charge male in connection with sexual assault of 13-year-old girl

Lethbridge Police have charged a male in connection with an incident where a 13-year-old girl was sexually assaulted and videos were recorded and appeared to have been made available for distribution on social media.

On June 22 at approximately 7 a.m., police responded to a report of a missing 13-year-old girl. Police subsequently located the girl inside a vehicle with an adult male at a northside park. The girl was transported to Chinook Regional Hospital and the male was taken into custody. Further investigation determined the victim had been unconscious when she was sexually assaulted and videos of the incident were recorded and appeared to have been made available in a message screen for distribution on social media.

Sean Cedric Bilo, 19, of Lethbridge, is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, make/print/publish child pornography, distribute child pornography, possession of child pornography, invite sexual touching and luring a child.

Bilo was released from custody with numerous conditions following a Judicial Interim Release. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 5.
