SaskPower almost has power restored to Eagle Valley Campground, trailer park south of Maple Creek

Posted on 10 April 2022 by Ryan Dahlman

SaskPower crews continue to work diligently in the Maple Creek area, making significant gains in restoring power to the region, despite being met with extremely difficult terrain and wet conditions.

Since the beginning of the repair effort, more than 600 power poles and 750 replacement crossarms have been dispatched to the Maple Creek area.

As of 8:00 p.m., the main power line into Cypress Hills, the town of Hatton, and the rural areas north and west of Hatton have been restored. Currently, there are 138 customers remaining without power, and the majority of those customers are expected to be restored tomorrow evening. SaskPower is on-track to meet the previously communicated ETRs for these remaining customers:

• Eagle Valley Campground area: Sunday at 5:00 p.m.

• Trailer-park south of Maple Creek: Sunday at 10:00 p.m.

Crews previously working to restore power to the Hatton area will be redeployed to areas south of Maple Creek to conduct repairs in the morning.

It’s possible that some individual customers may be restored outside these ETRs. If any of these customers have health or safety concerns related to the length of their outage, they are encouraged to reach out to their local community administration.
