Swift Current Municipal Detachment RCMP (calls for May 5-7)

The following is a synopsis of calls for service for the dates indicated:

MAY-05

4:17 PM – report of a grey Ford Ecosport passing a school bus with its stop arm activated. This matter is still under investigation.

5:15 PM – report of a male pulling up to the caller’s neighbours residence, yelling at his female neighbour and then left.

Police were able to determine there had been a family dispute and the two were mother and son. The two were told to keep things civil.

6:48 PM – report of a family dispute.

8:20 PM – report of the back door of a location on the 900 block of Lorne Street E being open. Police attended the location and secured the property as it appeared to have blown open. A property rep for the location was contacted about making better arrangements to lock the back door.

MAY-06

6:46 AM – report of a male in the parking lot of a business on the 1700 block of North Service Road E yelling. Officers attended the location and spoke to the male who vented his frustrations about the world and apologized.

10:01 PM – report of a possible impaired driver in a brown Dodge W150 and then parked on Chaplin Street W. Officers attended the area locating the truck but there was no one in or around the vehicle.

10:59 PM – while conducting checks a female youth was not at her residence as outlined in her court ordered conditions. She will be charged with one count of failing to comply under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

2023-MAY-07

2:37 PM – 911 call of an elderly male walking across the #1 Highway. The caller had stopped to speak with the male and was concerned about the state of his mental health. Officers made patrols, locating the male in the parking lot of a business and after speaking with him they did not have any concerns about his health.

3:23 PM – report of the caller finding a suspicious bag of “white stuff’. Officers attended to seize the item however the caller no longer remebered what she had done with it. The following day the caller located the bag and police attended to seize it.

5:38 PM – report of an assault that occured approximately 45 minutes prior at a commerical dwelling unit on the 100 block of North Service Road W. The caller advised he’d been punched in the nose by another male after getting into an argument. Police attended the location and determined the fight had been consensual. No charges were laid in relation to the incident.

6:46 PM – 911 call of a possibly impaired driver in a black Chevrolet Traverse leaving an establishment on the 300 block of North Service Road W. Police were able to determine the driver of the vehicle was not impaired.

8:57 PM – report of a suspicious red Plymouth Reliant in the alley of the 200 block of 6th Avenue NW. The caller advised the vehicle had been there the night prior with a dog inside and tonight it appeared someone was passed out in the front seat. Police attended, locating the vehicle and two subjects moving items from the vehicle into their residence.
