Swift Current Municipal Detachment respond to a complaint of assault over dispute over leaves

The following is a synopsis of calls for service for the dates indicated:

OCTOBER-28

4:08 PM – report of an assault that occurred approximately four weeks prior between two male youth. This matter is still under investigation.

4:34 PM – report of a theft of fuel from a business on the 300 block of North Service Road W. The caller advised that the male paid for other product he was purchasing but did not mention the fuel. Phone numbers for the registered owner were no longer in service.

5:38 PM – 911 call of a theft from a business on the 1700 block of Memorial Drive. This matter is still under investigation.

6:11 PM – while on patrol officers issued a ticket to the driver of a grey Chevrolet Impala for parking on Central Avenue N within a no parking zone.

6:24 PM – while on patrol officers issued a written warning to the driver of a black Dodge Journey for having a white light at the rear of the vehicle when not in reverse.

OCTOBER-29

3:02 AM – 911 call from a location on the 2000 block of Saskatchewan Drive to have a patient returned who fled and is a danger to himself. Officers made patrols and located the male at his residence and returned him to the location.

9:48 AM – 911 call from a female reporting that she did not care for how her child was being looked after at daycare. Police spoke with the caller who was told to find new child care if she did not like where her child currently is. The female was also given a verbal warning about the proper use of 911 .

11 :29 AM – report of a theft from the caller’s residence on the 800 block of Lochwood Place. This matter is still under investigation.

4:33 PM – report of a hit and run to the caller’s vehicle while parked in the lot of a business on the 1800 block of Memorial Drive. A plate number for the vehicle that drove away was able to be provided by a witness. This matter is still under investigation.

7:30 PM – while on patrol officers issued a written warning to the driver of a black Chevrolet Camaro for failing to produce a driver’s licence upon police request.

8:34 PM – report of the caller being concerned that two subjects known to her will play “ding, dong, ditch” at her residence later tonight. The caller was explained that police cannot investigate “what if’ complaints but made a couple patrols

though the evening and saw no suspicious activity in the area.

10:20 PM – report a suicidal individual. Police then received a second call that they were at the hospital. Police attended the hospital and confirmed the individual was in fact there and stayed until she was able to be evaluated by a doctor.

OCTOBER-30

12:07 AM – report of two males chasing one another, dressed in black in the parking lot of a business on the 300 block of Central Avenue N being quite aggressive towards one another. Police made patrols but did not locate anyone matching the description provided by the caller.

2:37 AM – report of a horse inside a trailer hitched to a black Ford F150 parked on Central Avenue N. The caller did not think this was right. Officers attended and the horse did not appear to be in any distress.

2:43 AM – while on patrol officers conducted a check on a female with a court ordered curfew. She was not home. This matter is still under investigation.

10:28 AM – 911 call from a male wanting his ex-girlfriend removed from his residence. The caller advised that the female showed up at the residence with her current boyfriend wanting property. Police attended and determined the matter was civil and recommended all parties speak to their lawyers.

11:17 AM – report of a structure fire on the 800 block of 5th Avenue NE. Police attended and fire fighters were already on scene putting out the fire.

12:19 PM – report of the caller’s boyfriend being assaulted by their neighbour on the 600 block of 2nd Avenue NE after a dispute over leaves. This matter is still under investigation.

3:58 PM – report of a red Dodge Journey being stolen from the 100 block of Central Avenue N. This matter is still under investigation.

5:31 PM – request to conduct a wellbeing check on a female who had not shown up for work and is not answering her phone. Police were able to speak with the female and confirmed she was okay.

6:03 PM – report of a female leaving a location on the 2000 block of Saskatchewan Drive. Police made patrols and located the female but she was not required to be returned. She was given a courtesy ride to a family member’s residence for the evening.

6:54 PM – report of a female calling the caller and her child hurtful names. The caller wanted the matter documented with police should it escalate into something worse.

10: 14 PM – report of a suicidal individual. Police located the individual and they were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
