The following is a synopsis of calls for service for the dates indicated:
OCTOBER-07
5:07 PM – report of an unknown male contacting the caller saying “your time is up” and then disconnecting. Police attended the residence associated with the phone number but there was no one home. Police also made attempts to call the number back but were unable to leave any messages. The caller was instructed to block the phone number so they cannot contact her again.
5:42 PM – report of the complainant’s purse going missing from a location on the 1100 block of Central Avenue N. She was instructed to cancel all credit and debit cards that were in the bag. At 8:05 PM the complainant returned to advise that she had gotten her purse back, it was turned into a business where it had gone missing.
5:42 PM – report of a theft from a business on the 1700 block of Memorial Drive. This matter is still under investigation.
11:01 PM – report of the caller hearing a male yelling and what sounded like something being smashed near Powley Street that had since stopped after making the call to police. Officers made patrols but did not locate or observe anything suspicious.
11:17 PM – report of the caller’s mother and her boyfriend arguing with him about rent. The caller advised the argument
escalated to the point that he’d pushed his mother’s boyfriend down the stairs. Police attended the residence and spoke
to all in the home. The boyfriend did not want to pursue with any charges and refused to provide a statement to police.
11:55 PM – while on patrol officers issued a written warning to the driver of a grey Nissan Rogue for disobeying a stop
sign.
OCTOBER-08
1:03 AM – while on patrol officers observed a black Jaguar S travelling the wrong way on 1st Avenue NW. Once police
activated their emergency lights the driver of the Jaguar attempted to flee from police that eventually came to a stop.
During the traffic stop the driver, an adult male, failed a roadside alcohol screening test and was arrested for impaired
driving. Police also discovered the male had a warrant out of Maidstone, SK which was executed and he was arrested on.
25 year old Brady Davis of Lloydminster, SK was held in police custody and has been charged with impaired driving and
flight from police under the Criminal Code. Davis appeared in Swift Current Provincial Court October 11, 2022.
2:46 AM – 911 hang up call from a female stating she saw a woman on the overpass alone, laying on the ground and then
the call disconnected. Police were able to make contact with the caller who advised she had stopped and provided the
woman a ride home and police were no longer needed.
3:02 AM – report of a dispute between a mother and daughter after the daughter came home intoxicated. Police were able
to mediate the situation and no charges were laid in relation to the incident.
6:11 AM – report of an alarm at a business on the 1100 block of Central Avenue N. Police attended and confirmed the
alarm to be false after ensuring the building was secure.
8:42 AM – report of a male looking through cars on the 200 block of Industrial Drive carrying a bag. Officers made patrols
and located the male who had a bag of plastic bottles and cans that he had been picking up off of the ground.
12:06 PM – report of the caller’s son who came to Swift Current with her for the weekend, took off in the middle of the
night and is now texting her that he is going to live with a friend he made online. Police along with the PACT worker were
able to locate the male youth with his friend and assist with mediating a discussion with he and his mother, who he was
left in the care of.
12:19 PM – report of multiple storage lockers at a business on the 100 block of Industrial Drive being broken into. Staff at
the business were working on obtaining contact information for renters and review video footage. This matter is still under
investigation.
5:35 PM – report of a male breaching the conditions of his probation order. This matter is still under investigation.
OCTOBER-09
2:03 AM – report of multiple fights breaking out at an establishment on the 500 block of Cheadle Street W. Police
attended the location and located a male who was causing issues and staff at the location wanted him removed. The
male was arrested and held in custody until he was sober. No charges were laid in relation to the incident.
2:19 AM – report of the caller being chased out of an establishment on the 500 block of Cheadle Street W by a male who
had choked him and threatened his life. Police attended the location and spoke to the caller who was outside hiding from
the male. While with the caller police were able to hear the threats being made when the caller answered a phone call
from the male, putting it on speaker. The male was located by police, arrested and held in custody until he was sober.
Once sober he was released with a future court date and will be charged with one count of assault and one count of
uttering threats under the Criminal Code.
9:19 AM – request to conduct a wellbeing check on a female who the caller has been unable to get ahold of. Police were
able to speak with the female and confirm she was okay and resting at home with a cold.
2:23 PM – request to assist with a male at a location on the 2000 block of Saskatchewan Drive refusing to leave. Officers
attended and the male had contacted a friend to come pick him up and left without further incident.
2:58 PM – while on patrol officers issued a ticket to the driver of a blue BMW 528XI for failing to produce a driver’s licence
upon officer request. The driver of the vehicle was also issued a written warning for using their cellphone while at a red
light.
8:07 PM – report of a dispute between a mother and her adult son. The caller stated her son has been drinking, saying
mean things to her and breaking her property. Police attended the residence and confirmed no physical altercation
occurred between the two of them . No property had been broken and the son was in his room and appeared sober.
OCTOBER-10
12:02 AM – while on patrol officers conducted a check on a male with a court ordered curfew. He did not answer the door. This matter is still under investigation.
1:29 AM – report of a suicidal individual. Police along with EMS were able to locate the individual who was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
2:32 AM – report of a dog barking in a dwelling unit on the 500 block of Robert Street E. Police attended but there was no answer at the door. Police advised the caller to get in contact with the landlord of the property the following morning.
3:20 AM – while on patrol officers conducted a check on a male who is on a court ordered curfew. He did not answer the door. This matter is still under investigation.
5:16 AM – while police were assisting Swift Current Rural on a matter, police located a vehicle that was potentially involved and determined the vehicle had been reported stolen. A male came out of the residence saying the truck was his, which then led to the male being arrested. This matter is still under investigation.
9:21 AM – found wallet was brought into the Detachment and placed into the lost and found.
10:04 AM – report of a theft from a business on the 1800 block of Memorial Drive. This matter is still under investigation.
11:53 AM – report of a gas and dash from a business on the 400 block of North Service Road E. This matter is still under investigation.
12:00 PM – report of a second theft from a business on the 1800 block of Memorial Drive. This matter is still under investigation.
12:15 PM – while on patrol officer officers issued a written warning to the driver of a brown Buick Enclave for operating a motor vehicle without valid registration.
12:17 PM – report of a party taking place at a dwelling unit on the 500 block of Robert Street E the night prior and this morning the caller found a door damaged and a fire extinguisher missing. This matter is still under investigation.
1:38 PM – report of a break and enter and theft from a residence on the 500 block of 6th Avenue NW. This matter is still under investigation.
2:32 PM – report of a female known to the caller repeatedly driving past his residence and he would like police to tell her to stop. Police contacted the female and gave her a verbal warning to cease or it could lead to further investigation with a potential of criminal charges being laid.
2:53 PM – report of a suicidal individual. Police attended the residence after receiving a second call and spoke to the individual, determining they were not a harm to themselves or others.
9:32 PM – report of a male known to the caller threatening to cause physical injury to her. This matter is still under investigation.
9:32 PM – report of a female who left a residence earlier in the day and had not returned. While making attempts to locate the female, police were advised she’d returned and assistance was no longer needed.
10:13 PM – report of a possibly impaired driver leaving an establishment on the 1600 block of North Service Road E in a. red Ford or Dodge truck. The caller advised when they arrived at the establishment they were asked to leave because they were loud and had not been served anything. Officers made patrols but did not locate any vehicles matching the description provided.
