The Swift Current Agricultural and Exhibition Association announces the 2022 Frontier Days Ambassador – Ashlee Waldner.
The role of the Frontier Days Ambassador is to promote the Frontier Days regional fair at various events throughout the year, to represent the Swift Current Agricultural & Exhibition Association, and positively demonstrate the prairie way of life. The Frontier Days Ambassador is the highest honour for a youth in Southwest Saskatchewan and is a great way to be part of the community. Throughout the crowning year, the Ambassador participates in various functions in Swift Current as well as the Southwest area. In recognition of the Ambassador’s year spent representing Frontier Days, they will be awarded a $2,000.00 scholarship at the end of their term.
Ashlee Waldner is from Val Marie but moved to Swift Current last year to complete her high school education at the Swift Current Comprehensive High School. She is currently in Grade 11 and places a high importance on post-secondary education. While she isn’t sure yet which field she plans to pursue, law, journalism, psychology, or education are all possible degrees that she is considering. Ashlee is an avid barrel racer, competing in High School Rodeo, as well as the CCA, KCRA, and SBRA circuits. Ashlee keeps herself busy in her free time with a baking business to make some extra money around the holidays. Ashlee is passionate about agriculture and rodeo, as well as community involvement. We are very excited to have Ashlee join us at the Swift Current Ag & Ex as our 2022 Frontier Days Ambassador.
Ashlee’s crowning will take place at the Acres & Avenues Tradeshow on April 30th at 1:00pm. Stockade, Kinetic Park, Swift Current SK.
