New arrivals at the Picture Butte Municipal Library

Cheryl Garratt, Manager of the Picture Butte Municipal Library (left) and Christianna Bach, President of The Friends of the Picture Butte Library, proudly display some of the shiny and new children’s non-fiction books that are now available, thanks to the fundraising activities of The Friends.  

The Friends recently donated $10,000 to upgrade the library’s collection. A Valentine’s Day Silent Auction, a Mother’s Day bake sale, raffles, and volunteering at the Pure Casino in Lethbridge are just some of the activities that The Friends have undertaken to assist the library financially. 

With rising costs and limited operating funds, fundraising is now critical if the library is to continue to maintain the current service standards. Many people in our community rely on the library for computer and Internet access.

The Friends are now focusing their fundraising efforts to replace the outdated computers in the library. Watch for more fundraisers in the near future. By supporting he Friends, you are supporting the library and your community.
