The Lethbridge Police Service, Blood Tribe Police Service and RCMP have joined forces to host a law enforcement career day for prospective recruits.
The event, which marks the first time the three agencies have teamed up for a collective recruitment initiative, is set for Friday, May 19 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Lethbridge College gym, 3000 College Drive South.
Law Enforcement Career Day is open to the public and will provide information about each agency, the application process to become a police officer, give participants an opportunity to run the Alberta Physical Readiness Evaluation for Police (APREP) fitness test and showcase some aspects of the job with demonstrations by the K9 Unit and members of the LPS Tactical Team.
“This is a great opportunity for anyone considering a career in law enforcement to connect with local recruiters,” said Cst. Mike Darby, with the LPS Recruiting Unit. “Whether you’re thinking of joining LPS, RCMP or Blood Tribe Police, all the information you need will be available plus you’ll get the chance to practice the fitness test and check out some cool demonstrations.”
LPS, BTP and RCMP are all currently hiring.
