The following is a synopsis of calls for service for the dates indicated:
APRIL-28
4:16 PM – while on patrol, officers issued a ticket to the driver of a grey Chevrolet Silverado for using an electronic communication device while operating a motor vehicle.
6:45 PM – report of the caller seeing and hearing things that were not there. Police attended the caller’s residence and confirmed he was not a risk to himself or others.
8:22 PM – report of a dispute over property damage relating to the caller’s lease. They were advised this was a civil matter and police would not be involved.
10:29 PM – report of the caller being assaulted by two males. This matter is still under investigation.
10:36 PM – request to attend a residence with the Swift Current Fire Department about a “funny smell”. Police attended and the Fire Department cleared the building.
10:37 PM – request to conduct a wellbeing check on a male at a commercial dwelling unit on the 100 block of North Service Road E. The caller had made a delivery to the location and after providing his debit card the male went into a different room and was not responding to the caller. Police attended and confirmed the male was okay.
APRIL-29
1:24 AM – report of an alarm at a business on the O block of Springs Drive. Police attended the location and determined the alarm to be false after ensuring the business was secure.
10:20 AM – report of a suspicious male on the 900 block of George Street E who had taken an interest in the scooter the caller’s child had been riding and then appeared to be following them . Officers made patrols but were unable to locate anyone matching the description provided by the caller.
12:08 PM – report of a phone scam where the caller was asked to pay a fraudulent debt with gift cards. This matter is still under investigation.
1:10 PM – report of a dispute on the 200 block of 6th Avenue NE. The caller advised her ex-boyfriend was refusing to leave her residence after an argument. Officers attended and the male left.
3:50 PM – 911 call from a female requesting an intoxicated male be removed from her residence after he refused to leave. Police attended the residence and arrested the male. The male was held in custody until he was sober. No charges were laid in relation to the incident.
5:53 PM – report of the caller’s adult daughter refusing to leave his residence. Police attended the residence and spoke to the female who admitted to being impaired by drug. The female was arrested and held in custody until she was sober. No charges were laid in relation to the incident.
7:19 PM – report of the caller’s red Pontiac G6 being stolen from his residence on the 500 block of 6th Avenue NE. This matter is still under investigation.
9:39 PM – report of a sudden death at a residence in Swift Current. A 35 year old female was pronounced deceased at the scene. The death has been deemed non-suspicious.
9:54 PM – report of an assault between four female youth. This matter is still under investigation.
APRIL-30
2:19 AM – report of an impaired driver in a grey Kia Sedona on Chaplin Street W. The caller advised the vehicle was swerving all over the road and almost hit the back of the caller’s vehicle. Police made patrols, locating the vehicle and conducting a traffic stop. During the stop the adult male driver refused to blow into a roadside alcohol screening device. The male was arrested and held in police custody until he was sober and will be charged with impaired driving under the Criminal Code.
2:25 AM – 911 call of a hit and run to a white GMC Sierra while parked on the 1400 block of Bell Street E. The caller advised that he heard a loud noise outside and when he looked out he saw a silver Ford truck had hit his neighboursvehicle and the occupant left the area on foot. This matter is still under investigation.
8:43 AM – 911 call of a disturbance at a business on the 700 block of South Service Road E. A female in the business had been confronted when trying to shoplift and then started screaming and throwing things, leaving the area on foot. Police were able to locate the female who was verbally banned from the business.
5:34 PM – while on patrol, officers issued a ticket to the driver of a grey Honda Accord for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s licence. The vehicle was towed from the location and impounded for 30 days.
7:20 PM – report of a collision on the 10th Avenue NE involving a vehicle and pedestrian. Police attended the location where the Swift Current Fire Department and EMS were already on scene. The driver of a blue Ford Escape advised he saw a male youth running towards him, stopped his vehicle on the street and the male youth continued to run himself into the front end of the SUV which was confirmed by other witnesses in the area. It was determined the youth was impaired by some sort of substance and had been injured in the collision and was transported to hospital by EMS for further evaluation. No charges were laid in relation to the collision.
