Alberta Health Services has rescinded a boil water order for the Town of Oyen issued Jan. 18.
A power outage Jan. 17 caused a drop in water pressure that jeopardized safety of the water supply. Full water pressure has been restored and subsequent testing of the water has shown it is safe to drink.
All Oyen residents and businesses can return to normal water consumption practices once they have flushed water lines; boiling will no longer be required. Information about flushing lines, cleaning and sanitizing following a boil water advisory can be found online at Coping with Emergencies under Boil Water Advisories. For health advice and information, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, call Health Link Alberta, at 811.
