The Milk River Health Centre Emergency Department (ED) will be temporarily closed overnight from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m., Mondays to Thursdays, between October 17 and November 11.
The ED will remain open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The ED will also be open weekends, including overnights.
This is a temporary measure due to lack of physician coverage and AHS is working hard to ensure local residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time.
Nursing staff will remain on-site to provide care for long-term care residents.
Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency. EMS calls will be re-routed to Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge (87 km). Patients seeking care can access emergency services at the Raymond Health Centre and Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge.
Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions. Individuals requiring non-emergency medical care are also encouraged to call their family physician.
The AHS is thankful for the support of surrounding healthcare centres and medical staff and would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding during this time.
