The following is a synopsis of calls for service for the dates indicated:
SEPTEMBER-09
4:05 PM – report of a female and her two children had crossed the rail road tracks from the south side to the north side and the caller was concerned it is not safe. Police were unable to attend the location due to other matters.
9:53 PM – request to attend a business on the 0 block of 1st Avenue NE to remove two males refusing to leave. Police attended the location and the males left without incident.
10:12 PM – report of a group of loud youth loitering in front of a business on the 100 block of 1st Avenue NE. Police attended and the group left.
10:36 PM – report of a white Chevrolet truck that was stolen out of Alberta possibly on the #1 Highway in the Swift Current area. Police made patrols but were unable to locate the vehicle.
10:43 PM – while on patrol officers issued a ticket under the Traffic Safety Act to the driver of a black Ford Fiesta for holding, viewing, using or manipulating an electronic communication device while operating a motor vehicle.
SEPTEMBER-10
12:21 AM – 911 call of a black Ford Focus speeding on the South Service Road and passing the caller. The vehicle then pulled into the parking lot of a commercial dwelling unit and two males went inside. Police attended the location and spoke to the male driver who initially lied about operating the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was issued a ticket under
the Traffic Safety Act for driving to the left of a solid center line.
2:22 AM – while on patrol officers issued a ticket under the Alcohol & Gaming Regulations Act for having open alcohol in a motor vehicle.
3:25 AM – 911 call of a domestic dispute on the 100 block of 6th Avenue NE. Police attended the residence and an intoxicated couple were both arrested after an argument escalated to the pair slapping each other. Each will be charged with one count of assault and were given a future court date.
8:32 AM – report of an alarm at a business on the 100 block of 5th Avenue NW. Police attended the business and confirmed the alarm to be false after ensuring the building was secure.
10:45 AM – report of an alarm at a business on the 1900 block of Chaplin Street W. Police along with the owner of the business attended and confirmed the alarm to be false, a staff member had left a door open by mistake.
2:14 PM – report of the caller’s relative being at their grandparents residence while they are out of town and the caller is house sitting for them. The caller was concerned because the relative has a history of theft and had been moving things in the garage. Police spoke with the caller who was instructed to tell the relative to leave and if he refused police would attend. No further calls were received.
2:18 PM – report of a child custody dispute. The caller was spoken to by police and advised this was not a police matter and they would need to speak with their lawyer.
2:58 PM – report of the caller having a cash out slip from a VL T stolen from him the night prior while at an establishment on the 200 block of Central Avenue N. The caller advised he’d won money on a VL T machine and an unknown male standing next to the machine took the cash out slip. When the caller asked what he was doing the male responded “there was nothing you can do about it”. The male did not want to deal with the matter at the time it occurred and left the location and contacted the business the following day but they would not provide him any information. This matter is still under investigation.
4:25 PM – report of a historical assault. This matter is under investigation.
4:27 PM – report of a female at the caller’s residence refusing to leave. The caller advised the female is on conditions not to have contact with him . Police attended the residence and the woman had left prior to police arriving. She was later located, arrested and given a future court date.
6:01 PM – report of a female known to the caller making false accusations that he’s been making threats to her. This matter is still under investigation.
6:37 PM – report of the caller being on the phone with a female when she suddenly told him she was in trouble and then disconnected the call after he could hear someone tell her to “go to her room and lock the door”. Police attended the female’s residence where Social Services was already on scene dealing with a matter involving one of her children. No police assistance was required.
8:21 PM – while on patrol officers issued a written warning to the driver of a blue Dodge 0150 for speeding.
9:35 PM – request to assist EMS with a male who’d had an overdose at a restaurant on the 1600 block of North Service Road E and the male’s partner was being very difficult. Police attended and the male was transported to the hospital by EMS and the female followed on foot.
10:43 PM – while on patrol officers issued a written warning to the driver of a blue Chevrolet Traverse for disobeying a stop sign.
10:49 PM – report of a suspicious person in a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo taking photos of a business on the 1300 block of Chaplin Street W. Police attended the location and spoke to the male who advised he was using the light on his cellphone to look for his driver’s licence and had not been taking photos.
11 :06 PM – request to assist the Fire Department with a house fire on the 200 block of Pelletier Drive. Police attended the residence and there was no fire.
SEPTEMBER-11
10:45 AM – report of a dispute between two males on the 300 block of 10th Avenue NW. Police attended and one of the males was assisting a friend with moving out of his apartment. Both males agreed to leave each other alone.
11:15 AM – report of the caller’s shop on the 100 block of 4th Avenue SE being graffitied. Police attended. There are no suspects or witnesses.
11:55 AM – report of a male hearing and seeing things that were not real. The male agreed to attend the hospital and was transported there by police.
3:00 PM – report of the caller coming across a young boy in a park who had a lot of sharp sticks with him and wanted police to make sure he was okay. Police attended the park and spoke to the boy who’d gotten into a fight with someone and wanted to retaliate but changed his mind. The boy lived close so police walked him home and spoke with his parent who he was left in the care of.
4:02 PM – report of the caller’s bicycle being stolen sometime overnight from the 500 block of Robert Street E. There are no suspects or witnesses.
5:20 PM – report of an alarm at a business on the 200 block of 1st Avenue NE. While police were on route to the business the alarm was cancelled .
9:25 PM – report of an intoxicated female in a vehicle in the parking lot of a business on the 1800 block of Memorial Drive. Police attended, located the vehicle & confirmed the driver of the vehicle was sober.
