22 Swift Current ACT/UCT Stingrays Summer Swim Club qualify for provincials

A large group of 22 swimmers from the Swift Current ACT/UCT Stingrays Summer Swim Club qualified for the provincial finals during the south semi-final swim meet in Moose Jaw, July 16. Four of the Swift Current swimmers were among the top age group medal winners.

They were Talyah Cuthbert (gold, female 11-12), Drew Cuthbert (bronze, male 7-8), Saylor Cuthbert (bronze, female 9-10), and Declan Newton (bronze, male 13-14). The ACT/UCT Stingrays hosted this swim meet, but the event could not take place at the Fairview pool. A chemical imbalance caused a pool closure for several days. As a result, the event was relocated to the Kinsmens Sportsplex in Moose Jaw. Below are the results of ACT/UCT Stingrays swimmers who scored points during the swim meet:

Cole Allen (male 11-12) – 2nd 50m breaststroke, 2nd 50m butterfly, 2nd 50m freestyle.

Drew Cuthbert (male 7-8) – 2nd 50m backstroke, 3rd 25m breaststroke, 1st 50m freestyle, 3rd 25m backstroke, 2nd 25m freestyle.

Saylor Cuthbert (female 9-10) – 5th 25m butterfly, 4th 50m breaststroke, 3rd 50m backstroke, 1st 50m butterfly, 2nd 100m intermediate.

Talyah Cuthbert (female 11-12) – 1st 200m freestyle, 1st 100m backstroke, 1st 100m 

freestyle, 1st 50m butterfly,1st 200m intermediate.

Daisy Dyck (female 15-17) – 3rd 200m freestyle, 5th 200m backstroke, 5th 100m breaststroke.

Daphne Dyck (female 13-14) – 3rd 200m backstroke, 6th 100m freestyle, 3rd 100m backstroke, 5th 50m freestyle.

Sophia Dyck-Funk (female 9-10) – 6th 100m backstroke.

Isabella Green (female 7-8) – 3rd 50m backstroke, 3rd 50m freestyle, 4th 25m backstroke, 2nd 25m freestyle.

Harrow Haubrich (female 7-8) – 6th 50m backstroke, 6th 25m breaststroke, 6th 50m freestyle, 6th 25m backstroke.

Peyton LaFontaine (female 13-14) – 5th 100m breaststroke, 2nd 200m breaststroke.

Kason Moffitt (male 11-12) – 5th 100m backstroke.

Lincoln Moffitt (male 9-10) – 5th 50m breaststroke, 4th 100m freestyle, 4th 100m breaststroke, 6th 50m freestyle.

Savannah Moffitt (female 7-8) – 5th 25m breaststroke, 3rd 50m breaststroke, 4th 25m freestyle.

Declan Newton (male 13-14) – 4th 50m butterfly, 3rd 100m breaststroke, 1st 200m breaststroke, 3rd 50m freestyle, 3rd 200m intermediate.

Kadence Olfert (female 13-14) – 4th 200m freestyle, 5th 100m butterfly.

Lachlan Rempel (male 11-12) – 6th 100m freestyle.

Jett Schafer (male 7-8) – 1st 25m butterfly, 6th 25m breaststroke, 4th 50m freestyle, 5th 25m freestyle.

Violet Schafer (female 9-10) – 2nd 100m backstroke, 3rd 100m freestyle, 3rd 50m freestyle.

Emma Shipley (female 7-8) – 2nd 25m butterfly.

Mya Shipley (female 11-12) – 3rd 200m freestyle, 5th 100m backstroke, 5th 200m intermediate.

Blake Simpson (male 9-10) – 1st 100m backstroke, 3rd 100m freestyle, 3rd 50m backstroke, 5th 50m freestyle.

Aryn Thibault (female 15-17) – 2nd 200m freestyle, 2nd 200m backstroke, 3rd 100m backstroke, 2nd 100m butterfly, 3rd 50m freestyle.

Hudson Ward (male 9-10) – 5th 100m freestyle, 5th 50m backstroke, 6th 100m breaststroke.
