Speak Up, Swift Current! Help Us Choose Our Strategic Priorities

The City of Swift Current would like to invite citizens and property owners to participate in Phase 2 of its Strategic Plan project, which will ultimately guide City Council and Senior Administration in developing the final version of the plan. The Citizen Survey will be available from Monday, February 7 through Friday, February 25.

“We have been in the process of developing an organizational strategy that will encompass the next five years,” said Mayor Al Bridal. “In order to reflect the wants and needs of our citizens within our strategy, we are encouraging as many residents and business/property owners as possible to Speak Up by taking part in our brief Citizen Survey. Every voice matters, and we can only hear your voices if you Speak Up!”

During Phase 1 of the project, the City engaged 15 community focus groups in order to learn about the City’s strengths, weaknesses and citizen priorities. The resulting data collected following the community focus group sessions helped the City determine key focus areas, which have been utilized to develop the Citizen Survey being launched in Phase 2. These focus areas include:

• Recreation, Parks & Culture

• Quality of Life

• Growth & Economic Development

• City Infrastructure

• Transportation & Accessibility

• Municipal Services

• Spending

The Citizen Survey will be available on the City’s new, online citizen engagement platform, Speak Up Swift Current, which can be found at https://speakupswiftcurrent.ca/ beginning February 7th. 

Survey participants will be required to register; however, the City will not share any personal data or information with third parties or utilize it for any purposes other than data mapping for survey purposes. Participants are not required to use their given name(s), address or telephone number to register; they can simply create a Username, Password, and provide a valid Email Address and Postal Code.
