Swift Current Municipal Detachment had lighter weekend

The following is a synopsis of calls for service for the dates indicated:

DECEMBER-17

4:17 PM – request to conduct a wellbeing check on the caller’s adult daughter after she had left a concerning message on

her phone and now was not answering any calls. Police attended the residence and confirmed all was well.

9:33 PM – 911 call from a female advising her mother had started throwing her belongings out of the residence after she

took her “pipe” away and the two started arguing over her mother’s drug use. Police attended the residence and

confirmed no physical violence had occurred but no one was willing to provide police with a statement.

9:47 PM – report of a suspicious white sedan parked at a business on the 2000 block of North Service Road E. Police

attended the area but did not see anything out of the ordinary.

DECEMBER-18

7:26 AM – while on patrol officers issued a written warning to the driver of a green Jeep Patriot for speeding.

8:02 AM – while on patrol officers issued a written warning to the driver of a white GMC Yukon for speeding.

12:27 PM – 911 call from a location on the 0 block of Springs Drive. A male and female could be heard speaking but

nothing more could be made out by call takers and attempts to call the phone back went straight to voicemail. Police

made patrols but did not find anything suspicious in the area and no other calls were received.

3:20 PM – report of the caller’s phone being stolen from a location on the 0 block of Springs Drive. The caller was able to

give the name of one of the male’s who was there at the time the phone was taken and he was able to locate the phone

and have it returned to the caller.

8:28 PM – 911 call from a male advising his father had returned some property to his ex-girlfriend that he is not supposed

to have contact with him and she slammed the door in his father’s face. The caller then advised he wanted to speak to

police about the domestic allegation he made the other night in relation to his ex-girlfriend, saying he made it all up when

he was intoxicated. Police attended the male’s location and explained that the matter with his ex was before the courts

and then educated him on the proper use of 911. The male was issued a ticket under the 911 Emergency Systems Act.

10:20 PM – request to conduct a wellbeing check on a female who had not been seen since the day prior and was not

answering phone calls. The female was located by police and was in good health.

DECEMBER-19

5:13 AM – 911 call of a collision on the #1 Highway involving a white Ford E450 hitting a deer. No one was injured as a

result of the collision and the vehicle was required to be towed from the location.

11 :05 AM – report of the complainant finding property outside of his business on the 300 block of 2nd Avenue SE that

does not belong to him. The property was placed into the Detachment lost and found.

1 :09 PM – report of the caller’s patio door being damaged on the 200 block of Valley Meadow Court by what she believes

may have been a BB gun. There are no witnesses.

3:53 PM – report of an alarm at a business on the 1400 block of Cheadle Street W. Police attended the business and

confirmed the alarm to be false after ensuring the building was secure.

4:13 PM – report of an alarm at a business on the 100 block of Central Avenue N. Police attended the business and

confirmed the alarm to be false after ensuring the building was secure.

8:01 PM – report of the caller’s garage door being vandalized on the 500 block of Valley Pointe Way. This matter is under

investigation.

9:47 PM – 911 call from a female advising she was having a panic attack after getting into an argument with her

roommate over a rent dispute. Police attended the residence and the girls were separated until they were able to calmly

discuss their rent situation.

10:27 PM – while on patrol officers issued a written warning to the driver of a red Peterbilt semi for speeding.

11 :17 PM – 911 call of a two vehicle collision at the intersection of 6th Avenue NE and George Street E. The driver of a

white Pontiac Sunfire had slid through the icy intersection and hit a white Ford Econoline. No one was injured as a result

of the collision. The driver of the Sunfire was charged for operating a motor vehicle without valid registration.
