The following is a synopsis of calls for service for the dates indicated:
NOVEMBER-19
6:46 PM – report of an adult male operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s licence. Police were familiar with the male and he has been previously charged with this however attempts to locate him driving have been unsuccessful.
8:12 PM – report of a gas and dash from a business on the 400 block of North Service Road E. A Dodge Grand Caravan with either an Alberta or British Columbia licence plate fuelled up and then left without paying. This matter is still under investigation.
9:32 PM – 911 call from a male youth reporting he had just been given the finger by the occupants of a dark red SUV and that one of the female occupants in the vehicle had a can of what appeared to be beer in her hand. No plate for the vehicle was able to be obtained.
9:32 PM – while on patrol officers issued a ticket to the driver of a white Kenworth semi for parking in a no-parking zone.
NOVEMBER-20
3:29 AM – while on patrol officers issued a ticket to an adult male for failing to notify his administrator of an address change.
5:18 AM – while on patrol officers issued a ticket to the driver of a grey Ford F150 for driving without reasonable consideration for others. The driver was also issued an inspection ticket to have the windshield on the vehicle replaced.
6:30 AM – officers conducted a check on an adult male who is on a police ordered curfew. He was not at his residence. This matter is still under investigation.
12:17 PM – while on patrol officers issued a written warning to the driver of a grey GMC Jimmy for smoking, holding lit tobacco or vapour products in a vehicle while a person under the age of 16 was present in the vehicle.
12:55 PM – while on patrol officers issued a ticket to the driver of a red Pontiac Grand Prix for holding her cellphone while operating a motor vehicle.
3:34 PM – report of the complainant being scammed while in Mexico. The complainant had already reported the scam to authorities in Mexico but was also reporting locally at the request of his financial institution.
3:36 PM – report of an alarm at a location on the 2100 block of Adams Street. Officers attended the location and confirmed the alarm to be false after clearing the building. A property representative was able to be contacted in order to attend and properly secure the building.
5:25 PM – while on patrol officers located an adult male who was arrest-able for breaching the conditions of his court order. During the arrest officers located a small amount of crystal meth on him. 25 year old Riley Hurl was arrested and held in police custody. Hurl has been charged with one count of possession of crystal meth under the Controlled Drugs & Substances Act and with breaching his conditional sentence order under the Criminal Code. 10:38 AM – while on patrol officers issued a written warning to the driver of a grey Pontiac GS for disobeying a stop sign.
NOVEMBER-21
1:40 AM – report of an assault at an establishment on the 200 block of Central Avenue N. Officers attended the location and spoke with two intoxicated males who had gotten into a fight and were now outside. A witness advised police that the two had been provoking each other while inside the establishment but it was unknown who initiated the assault. Both were instructed by police to get into a taxi and leave, which was complied with. No charges were laid in relation to this matter.
3:58 PM – while on patrol officers issued a ticket to the driver of a white GMC Sierra for operating a motor vehicle without valid registration. The driver was also given a written warning for failing to produce his driver’s licence upon officer request.
9:02 PM – 911 call of an overdosed female. Police attended the residence along with EMS where the female was revived after being administered Narcan eight times. The female was transported to the hospital by EMS for evaluation.
11:28 PM – report of the caller’s mother changing her password on a social media application. Police spoke to the female youth who was advised that this was not a police matter and suggested she have a conversation with her mother.
