The Swift Current Broncos wrapped up their first half of the 2016-17 WHL regular season by collecting their third straight win, beating the Prince Albert Raiders by a score of 4-3 on Saturday night at the Art Hauser Centre.

The Brooks Bandits (27-3-4) capped off their pre-Christmas schedule with a 4-1 home win over the Fort McMurray Oil Barons on Saturday night, in front of a season-high 1,410 fans at the Centennial Regional Arena.

The Brooks Bandits (26-3-4) got seven goals from seven different goal scorers, dispatching the visiting Lloydminster Bobcats 7-0 as Alex Horawski (Toronto, ON) registered his second consecutive shutout, stopping all 23 shots he faced.

Broncos make a trade with Seattle

The Swift Current Broncos have acquired prospect forward MacKenzie Wight from the Seattle Thunderbirds in exchange for veteran forward Tyler Adams and a conditional pick in 2019.

The Swift Current Super League Curling Championship game is set for December 15.

The high school basketball season is underway.  Both the junior and senior SWAC leagues will start this week. The seniors will play on Tuesday and the juniors on Thursday.  

It was the first of eight meetings between the Swift Current Broncos and the Regina Pats Sunday afternoon at the Credit Union iplex.
