The Swift Current 57’s baseball team, formerly known as the Swift Current Indians, will take to the field this summer to defend their 2016 Western Major Baseball League (WMBL) championship title under a new name and in new colours as part of a complete rebranding of the team.

The 2017 Swift Current 57’s Baseball Club Field of Dreams Dinner presented by Innovation Credit Union is set to take place Saturday Feb 25, at the Royal Canadian Legion.

Broncos' top line explodes for 15 points

The Swift Current Broncos top line of Glenn Gawdin, Aleksi Heponiemi and Tyler Steenbergen were in full force Wednesday night as they combined for an astonishing 15 points in the Broncos big 8-3 win over the Kootenay ICE at the Credit Union iplex.

Anti-Racism workshop coming to Swift Current

Swift Current will be the site for an important workshop in March.

The City of Swift Current Assessment Department began distributing property revaluation notices last week for delivery to Swift Current property owners this week. Revaluation occurs every four years, as legislated by the Provincial Government, to update residential and commercial property values to align with current market values.

The support from the community in the Swift Current area made it possible for the Salvation Army in the city to raise a record amount during its annual Christmas campaign.

The 2016 Western Major Baseball league champions have a new name. Honouringthe 57 seasons the team played as The Swift Current Indians, the WMBL baseball team in Swift Current will now use the nickname “57’s”.         

The Swift Current Broncos completed a blockbuster deal with the Brandon Wheat Kings ahead of Tuesday’s WHL Trade Deadline.
