Swift Current population continues to increase

Population growth in Swift Current during the past five years increased at a slightly higher rate than the preceding five years.

There was unanimous consent around the table from councillors for the City of Swift Current’s 2017 budget, which was presented under the theme of responsible renewal and with a tax increase of 8.76 per cent for ratepayers.

The Saskatchewan Abilities Council, Ability Bowl Winter Kickoff, held on February 12, was a striking success.

Past weekend was bad in Swift Current for vandalism

During the weekend of Feb. 10-12, Swift Current Municipal RCMP responded to over 20 vandalism complaints within the City of Swift Current.

Stark & Marsh CPA LLP and Great Plains College have signed an agreement that will provide full-time students with more than $10,000 over the next two years.

Swift Current mayor reacts to city's population growth

The much-anticipated 2016 Census was released by Statistics Canada yesterday, and with it, data that showed a jump in Swift Current’s population from 15,554 in 2011 to 16,604 in 2016 – an increase of 6.8%.
