Dorie’s House will be shutting its doors soon

Youth who find themselves without a safe place to go in Swift Current will soon be combating more than chilly fingers and cold weather as winter approaches. Dorie’s House has announced its closure due to financial shortfall.

Volunteers helped to plant trees and shrubs at various locations around Swift Current in preparation for the 2019 Western Canada Summer Games during the 9th annual Go Green Friday, Sept. 15.

After the sound of a starting gun, running in a crowded first kilometre of athletes, wannabes and marathon junkies, Tracey Jones of Swift Current ran her way to the finish line at the Queen City Marathon earlier this month with a finish time of 2:42:43.

Rustic Revival of sorts for young Swift Current welder

A young welder from Swift Current has created a series of exclusive custom furnishings from what most would call “junk”.

The Swift Current Fire Department will no longer be providing vehicle extrication rescue services to the R.M. of Swift Current.
