Highway 1 bridge work will begin tomorrow

The contractor is advising motorists and the commercial trucking industry of a bridge closure on Hwy 1 east of Swift Current (city limits), beginning Saturday, March 25. The original start date of March 4 was pushed back due to contractor delays.

Chinook Golf Course driving range to open Saturday

The City of Swift Current Community Services Division is pleased to announce that the Chinook Golf Course driving range will be opening at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25. The driving range will be open both Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The plan for the redevelopment of the former St. Joseph school site in Swift Current was presented to councillors at a regular council meeting, March 13.

The City of Swift Current has awarded the tender for the replacement of the main arena ice floor slab in the Innovation Credit Union i-plex to a Regina company.

Various activities and accomplishments from the 2015-16 school year were highlighted during the Holy Trinity Catholic School Division’s annual meeting of electors, March 8.

A night after a thrilling 2-1 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors at the Credit Union i-plex, the Broncos closed out the regular season portion of their schedule to the Warriors at Mosaic Place and dropped a wild 10-5 decision.

City reminds businesses to renew licenses

The City of Swift Current would like to remind business owners and operators that all business license renewals must be completed by March 31st to avoid penalty. A business operating after that date without a valid business license will receive a Bylaw Violation Notice.

Great Plains College Swift Current Campus recently awarded a total of $9,500 to Electrician students in celebration of their decision to continue their education. Innovation Credit Union, a long-time donor, made a $3,500 commitment to scholarships this year and was on site to present an Entrance Scholarship to Brendan Nelson.
