For grain farmers from western Canada to get paid for their product, the grain must first be delivered and the longer it takes for the rail companies to start transporting the grain, the harder it will be for farmers who are in the midst of preparing for the upcoming seeding while still waiting to be paid for last year's grain.

Brooks' MakerSpace area opens March 10

Youth and young adults in Brooks will soon have an outlet for all that creative energy as MakerSpace launches on March 10.

Thanks to funding through the 2017 Kitchen Creations Fund offered by Food Banks Canada and Unilever, Interfaith Food Bank is now offering Shop Smart and Collective Kitchen programs, free for community members. 

The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) Calgary division honoured three southern Albertans with prestigious awards this year for their long-standing service and public outreach at the Vulcan Trek Centre.
