On June 15, the APEX team held their first pitch competition, the “APEX Business Challenge” which took place at the Medicine Hat College in the Eresman Theatre.  

Albertans will be able to kick off the FIFA World Cup Thursday with hours that allow bars to open and serve during games.

The Alberta Estonian Heritage Society will be gathering people from all over Alberta and beyond at the June 23 "Jaanipaev" Celebration (St John's Day Celebration).  
All people with roots in both Alberta and Estonia are cordially invited to the Celebration. 'Everyone is welcome' to the celebration whether they have Esto roots or not, provided they buy a ticket by mid-June.

On May 28, High River town council approved bylaw amendments that will enable future retail sales of recreational cannabis in High River. Currently, non-medical cannabis sale (and possession) remains illegal. Licenses for retail operations will not be issued until cannabis is legalized by the federal government, which is tentatively set for summer 2018.
The Town has started accepting applications and issuing development permits for cannabis-related businesses.
