Alberta Beef Producers (ABP) officials are hoping to gain nominations for the 2018 Environmental Stewardship awards this year before the deadline approaches.

The Lethbridge research station held an open house at the end of June for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada to showcase to members of the public the important projects they work on daily within the community.

As a member of the National Environmental Farm Plan (NEFP) steering committee, the Alberta Wheat Commission (AWC) invites Agri-food stakeholders from across the value chain to attend the second annual NEFP Summit in Ottawa this November.

With Alberta being a province known for its agriculture background, the importance of irrigation can sometimes be overlooked.

The 2nd annual Homestead show and Market was held in Fort Macleod June 9-10. This agriculture homestead show and livestock market was brought back this year so vendors could work with the public to promote heritage breed poultry and specialty livestock.

Registration is underway for the 14th annual Southern Alberta Grazing School for Women. As in past years, organizers are expecting the 40 spots to fill up quickly.

Over the past week (up to June 13), most areas of Alberta received at least 10 mm of rain, with the western areas of the  southern, central and north west regions as well as southern areas of the Peace region receiving more than 20-30 mm of rain.
