Swift Current & District Chamber of Commerce realizes the importance of agriculture to the viability and the sustainability of local business.

It was a missed opportunity for Alberta Labour Minister Christina Gray to learn about the greenhouse industry when she canceled  a meeting with Redcliff greenhouse operators last week. The meeting was to be held last Wednesday. The cancellation left those in the local industry disappointed and without a chance to explain their business.

2018 South Country Co-op Ag-Expo a success

The 2018 South Country Co-op Ag-Expo was unveiled in southwest Alberta last week, equipped with the latest in agriculture technology, equipment and supplies for all to see.

The Senate is now studying Bill C-49, a bill to amend Canada’s Transportation Act and other related Acts, which the House of Commons passed in November. The National Farmers Union (NFU) is one of many groups urging the Senate’s Transportation and Communications Committee to amend the bill before it goes back to the Senate for a final vote.
