Respectable showings for SunDogs volleyball teams

It was a good weekend for coaches Tiffany Powell (head coach) Berkley Petersen (assistant Coach) and their 16U girls’ volleyball team at the 16U Moose Jaw Element Tournament April 8-9.

They finished third overall at the after winning their pool with match victories April 8 over Yorkton Blitz Invasion (2-0); Regina’s QCVC Voltage (2-0) and Moose Jaw Element Panthers (2-1).
On April 9, the SunDogs won their first match over the Panthers (2-0), but then lost a hard-fought gold medal semi final to the QCVC Royals 21-25 and 23-25.
In the bronze-medal match Swift Current beat the QCVC Eclipse (22-25, 26-24 and 15-10).
15U Girls
The team led by Liam Choo-Foo, Travis Kelln and Shawn Hiebert finished fourth overall in the QCVC tournament in Regina April 8-9.
After 2-0 victories on April 8 over QCVC Royal Fusion, HVC White, Alliance VC and QCVC Blackout, the 15U squad from Swift Current dropped a 25-18, 15-25, 10-15 match to QCVC Raiders in the gold semi-final.
In the bronze semi-final the SunDogs beat the QCVC Black Diamonds 2-1 before losing a heartbreaking 24-26, 21-25 bronze medal final to QCVC Royal Fusion.
