Swift Current RCMP extremely busy on Canada Day weekend (updated)

The following is a synopsis of calls for service for the Swift Current RCMP detachment:



2018-JUNE-29
4:20 PM - report of a credit card being used fraudulently. This matter is still under investigation.
5:08 PM - 911 call of an e-mail that was received in regards to warranty on a cellphone that had been stolen from the caller five months prior. The caller just wanted the information documented as he had never reported the cellphone as stolen.
6:35 PM - 911 call from male wanting advice on a child custody matter.
7:20 PM - 911 call of a motocross accident on 11th Avenue NW. Officers attended the location. One male had been injured during the organized event & planned to attend the hospital to be checked over.
7:42 PM - report of a collision on the 1500 block of South Service Road W. A truck pulling a camper trailer cut a corner too short & hit a post. No one was injured in the incident. No charges were laid in relation to the matter.
8:43 PM - report of a hit & run occurring on 1st Avenue N.W. where a Ford pickup truck struck a parked vehicle. No other information or details were able to be obtained.
9:28 PM - report of a commercial alarm at a business on the  1st Avenue N.W. Officers attended the location & determined the alarm to be false.
9:38 PM - 911 hang up from a pay phone at a location on the 1800 block of 22nd Avenue N.E. Upon call back someone keeps picking up the phone & then hanging it up again. Officers attended the location & no one was near the pay phone.
11 :00 PM -while on patrol officers located a semi parked in a prohibited area of the #1 Highway. The male driver was charged under the Traffic Safety Act.
11: 15 PM -while on patrol officers located a semi parked in a prohibited area of the #1 Highway. The male driver was charged under the Traffic Safety Act.
11 :58 PM - report of an intoxicated male walking near #4 Highway who had fallen into the ditch. Officers attended & located an adult male who was arrested & released once sober without criminal charges.
2018-JUNE-30
12:22 AM - report of a commercial alarm at a business on the 400 block of North Service Road W. Officers attended the location & determined the alarm to be false.
2:03 AM -911 call of a male being awoken in his residence to an unknown female. The female left the residence as soon as the caller asked her who she was. This matter is still under investigation.
2:09 AM -officers were at an event being held at the exhibition grounds where two intoxicated males began yelling & swearing & becoming more aggressive at police while staggering around the area. Both males were arrested. One male was released to a sober friend. The other male was held in custody & released once sober without criminal charges.
2:58 AM - 911 call from a male stating he'd received a call from a female advising her boyfriend was physically hurting her & they are near the bridge on South Railway Street E. The caller would like police to attempt to locate the female & make sure she is okay. Officers attended & located the female & her boyfriend who were both intoxicated. They had been arguing but no physical violence occurred. Both parties agree to stay at separate residences for the night.
3:30 AM -officers were patrolling an event being held at the exhibition grounds & observed a male trying to hide from police after unlocking his vehicle with the remote. The male was later located behind a light pole intoxicated. The male was arrested & released once sober without criminal charges.
5:16 AM - officers were on patrol when they located an adult male passed out on a picnic table on the 200 block of 1st Avenue N.E. Male was woken up, arrested & once sober released without criminal charges.
9:09 AM - report of a female leaving a relationship & wanting police advice. Further investigation revealed a history of domestic assault & criminal harassment. One adult male will !be charged under the Criminal Code with assault, criminal harassment & breaking & entering.
9:27 AM - report of an abandoned white Chrysler PT Cruiser in a parking lot on Springs Drive. The vehicle had previously been reported & the property owner was advised they can have it towed from the location if they wish.
10:20 AM - report of a white Nissan Sentra being parked on the street in the path of the parade that is taking place. The owner of the vehicle was contacted to move the vehicle.
11 :20 AM -911 call from a store manager advising he had an employee quit two days prior & she has not returned her store keys.
11 :29 AM -officers on patrol & conducted vehicle stop on a gray GMC Sierra on 1st Avenue N. E. The two males in the vehicle were found to be in possession of marijuana under 30 grams.
12:43 PM -officers on patrol & conducted a vehicle stop on  white Chevrolet Celebrity on the 400 block of 1st Avenue N.E. The lone male occupant was found to be in possession of drugs. 28 year old James Gardner of Swift Current has been arrested & charged under the Criminal Code with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, breaching the  conditions of his court ordered recognizance & breaching the! conditions of his probation order. Gardner appeared in Swift Current Provincial Court on July 3;
2:26 PM - report of an abandoned black GMC Sierra in the parking lot of a business on the 1400 block of South Service Road E. A message was left with the registered owner to have the vehicle moved.
4:22 PM - report of a pedestrian slapping the callers vehicle telling him he was a poor driver. The caller advised he did not hit the pedestrian & they walked away & would not speak to the caller. The caller did not wish anything further to be done & only wanted it documented.
6:35 PM - report of a dog being left in a purple Dodge Caravan in the parking lot of a location on 17th Avenue S. E. for the last two hours with no windows cracked. Officers attended the location & made patrols but could not locate the vehicle.
6:53 PM - officers on patrol & located a semi parked in a prohibited area of #1 Highway. The male driver was charged under the Traffic Safety Act.
8: 16 PM - officers on patrol & located a white Chevrolet Silverado speeding on #4 Highway. The male driver was charged under the Traffic Safety Act.
8:40 PM - report from a male believing someone had stolen his dog from his vehicle while parked on the 700 block of Central Avenue N. While on the phone with the caller another person had contacted the Detachment advising they had found a dog wandering the streets. The owner of the dog was directed to the dog finder's location.
2018-JULY-1
2: 10 AM -officers were at an event at the exhibition grounds & conducted a vehicle stop on a red Toyota Camry. The male driver was found to be intoxicated by alcohol & will be charged under the Criminal Code with impaired driving.
5:03 AM - report of a commercial alarm at a business on the 1100 block of Central Avenue N. The alarm was canceled by the key holder prior to officer arrival.
8:06 AM - report of a school bus being entered while parked in the caller's back yard on the 100 block 11th Avenue S.E. The bus had been moved from the spot it was parked the night before & the caller saw three suspicious teenaged males in the back alley earlier in the morning. This matter is still under investigation.
8:33 AM -found identification turned into the Detachment. The owner of the identification was contacted for pick up.
11: 13 AM - report of an internal theft at a business on the 100 block of North Service Road E. This matter is still under investigation.
11: 16 AM - report of a two vehicle collision in the parking lot of a location on the 1100 block of 6th Avenue N. E. A white Nissan Maxima bumped into a gray Pontiac Grand Am. No one was injured in the incident & no charges were laid.
2: 13 PM - report of a suspicious phone call received at a business on the O block of Springs Drive where a male contacted the business & made sexually explicit comments towards the staff member. This matter is still under investigation.
2:30 PM - report of a theft of purse from an unlocked vehicle ion the 1200 block of Dahl Street E. The owner of the purse called the Detachment later in the day advising her purse had not been stolen & it has since been located.
3: 14 PM - report of a male youth breaching the conditions of !his court ordered undertaking by contacting a female youth. This matter is still under investigation.
3:35 PM - report of someone running out in front of vehicles telling "high red head girl" on 9th Avenue N.E. Officers made patrols of the area but were unable to locate anyone.
3:47 PM - 911 hang up on the 1100 block of 11th Avenue N Officers attended the location & there was a sporting event taking place. Officers determined there was no emergency taking place.
4:55 PM - report of a commercial alarm at a location on George Street E. Officers attended the location &
determined the alarm to be false. ·
9:38 PM -911 call of a suspicious black Dodge Charger on G Street W. Officers made patrols but could not locate any vehicles matching the description of the vehicle provided.
10:59 PM - 911 call of male parked next to the caller at the exhibition grounds in a red Chevrolet car yelling someone's name & then got out of the vehicle & took a bat out of his trunk. The male then got back in the vehicle & left the location.
No other information was able to be obtained & no other calls were received in relation to the matter.
11 :22 PM - request to do a well being check on the caller's sister as she had been crying on the phone after having an argument with her husband. The female was located & was okay.
11 :39 PM - report of residential alarm on the 500 block of Aspen Drive. Alarm was canceled prior to officer arrival.
2018-JULY-2
5:18 AM -911 open line call on the 400 block of 9th Avenue N.W. Officers were able to determine there was no emergency. The home owner is having issues with their phone & was advised to contact their service provider.
8:51 AM - request for police advice in regards to a rental property.
9:35 AM - report of a hit & run that occurred in a parking lot on 13th Avenue N.E. A truck drove over a concrete barrier & avoided hitting a tree resulting in hitting a parked Jeep. This matter is still under investigation.
11 :37 AM - report of two male youth drawing graffiti on a fence on the 800 block of Gladstone Street E. The caller believes they've been throwing eggs as well. The two male youth were arrested & charged under the Criminal Code with mischief.
11 :57 AM - 911 call of an assault that occurred on the 800 block of Chaplin Street E. Officers attended the location & two adult sisters had gotten into an altercation & requested that there be no police involvement.
12: 11 PM - report of harassing communications from a female stating the caller owes her money. This matter is still under investigation.
3:50 PM - report of a six year old female being left alone in a residence on the 200 block of 9th Avenue N.W. Officers attended & located the caller & the child. The older sister of the child was supposed to be watching the child while their mother ran an errand but had left the residence. The mother !returned home shortly after police arrival.
4:19 PM -911 mis-dial from a location on the 2200 block of Woodrow Lloyd Place. Officers determined there was no emergency taking place.
4:20 PM - 911 call of an unlocked vehicle being gone through & money taken from it on the 300 block of Gladstone Street
4:26 PM - 911 call from a female advising she is receiving threatening phone calls from a male. This matter is still under investigation.
5:12 PM - report of a male yelling & swearing & refusing to leave a business on the 1700 block of Springs Drive. Officers attended the location & the male left the property.
5:50 PM - report of a found pellet gun.
6:03 PM - an adult female attended the Detachment to report being assaulted by her father. The male will be charged under the Criminal Code with assault.
6:34 PM - report of vandalism to a residence on the 100 block of Grey Street W. Officers were tied up on priority call when a second call was received to the same location advising an adult female was unconscious & there may have possibly been a domestic assault. Officers attended the residence & the female home owner had been transported to the hospital after falling & not being able to get up. Officers were able to determine that no assault or vandalism had occurred. Two friends of the home owner had been at the residence watching a movie with the home owner & had gotten into a verbal argument & were asked to leave.
6:51 PM - report of a suspicious phone call received at a business on the O block of Springs Drive similar to a previously reported call. This matter is still under investigation.
7:25 PM - 911 call of a two vehicle collision on George Street: E. A gray Honda Accord hit a gray Honda Odyssey, requiring the Odyssey to be towed as it was no longer operable. No one was injured in the collision & no charges were laid in relation to the incident. '
8:52 PM - report of a vehicle being gone through & items stolen from it. This matter is still under investigation.
8:55 PM - 911 call from a male stating his girlfriend was "going nuts" on the O block of 2nd Avenue N.E. Officers attended the residence & upon arrival found property that had been thrown outside as well as a broken screen on the door. Officers located the female, who was intoxicated inside the residence.  She was arrested & released once sober without criminal charges.
