The City of Swift Current’s Community Services Division would like you to mark your calendars for a few upcoming youth events, with the excitement kicking off this week.

On June 14, we will be hosting our annual Youth Fest for students in grades 5 – 9. We’re very fortunate to be partnering with the Swift Current Community Youth Initiative to put on this free event from 6 – 8 p.m. at The Center (55 1st Avenue NE). Participants can enjoy bounce houses, Henna, a s’mores station, and lots of other cool games!

By participating in this event, you can also win cool prizes, like iRide Passes and a cool floatie!  Come out for a free hot dog and a great time!

On June 20, we’re partnering with Swift Current Skateboarding Inc. to put on Skate Camp! Skate Camp is open to all ages and all abilities. This event takes place at Riverdene Park, with registration starting at 5 p.m. and instruction time from 5:30 – 7:30. Participants get a free hot dog and free instruction from experienced skateboarders.

Bring your own skateboard or scooter and helmet. Don’t miss this awesome event, as there will even be a chance to win a prize! In case of poor weather, the event will be moved to the Colonel Clifton Centre located at 350 6th Avenue NE.

Lastly, on June 28, the annual Kiddies Day Parade takes place at 4:00 p.m. at Memorial Park. Participants must be there by 3:30 to be judged, and all participants will have the opportunity to get a free hot dog provided by the ACT & Shrine Club, and free ice cream provided by the City of Swift Current. Dress up, come out, and have a great time!

The best thing about these awesome, summer events? They’re free, fun, and open to everyone!
