The 2nd annual Swift Current Pride Week was kicked off with a flag raising ceremony on Market Square and a reception at the nearby Southwest Newcomer Welcome Centre office, June 4.

That evening an official proclamation at a regular City council meeting declared the week of June 3-9 as Swift Current Pride Week. Various events have been scheduled during the week, including a Pride family barbecue at Market Square on June 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a performance by singer-songwriter Megan Nash.

This event will include a Pride march in the downtown area at noon. There will be a Pride drag show and dance at the Lyric Theatre on June 9, starting at 9 p.m. More details about Swift Current Pride Week are available on the Southwest Saskatchewan Pride website or Facebook page.
