In recognition of the importance of Saskatchewan’s recreation, leisure and parks, the Government of Saskatchewan has once again proclaimed June as “Recreation and Parks Month” in Saskatchewan.

The City of Swift Current Community Services Division is excited to partner with Innovation Credit Union’s Picnic in the Park on June 3 to kick off the month-long celebrations.

Dean Robson, General Manager of Community Services, said “We are thrilled to be a partner and promote the importance of recreation, leisure and parks in our community and province. It is a great opportunity to showcase our beautiful City and the amazing parks, pathways and recreational activities that are offered here.”

There are many recreational and cultural events offered throughout the month of June and into the summer months. Stop by the Swift Current Branch Library and borrow your very own Nat Pack for a weekend of fun or check out the programs happening at Fairview Pool starting June 16. Ladies are invited out to Groovin’ in the Park, a free fitness program on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Elmwood Park.

Don’t forget about the annual Long Day's Night and Windscape Kite Festival from June 21 to 24 and Frontier Days from June 28 to July 1.
