Great Plains College offers unique scholarship program

Great Plains College is excited to announce the launch of its innovative new Entrance Scholarship program – the first of its kind at any post-secondary institution in Saskatchewan.

The emergency vehicles arrived with blaring sirens and in a cloud of dust at the Swift Current Airport in response to a call about a two-plane collision.

The results of a partnership between all three levels of government to provide in the housing needs of low-income seniors were celebrated during a ribbon cutting in Swift Current on Sept. 7.

Swift Current Broncos extend Mark Lamb’s contract

The Swift Current Broncos Hockey Club announced that they have signed General Manager and Head Coach, Mark Lamb, to a three-year contract extension.

More information has come forth in regards to the emergency plane landing in Swift Current.

A 51-year-old man from Coldstream, B.C., was sentenced to 12 years in prison for his involvement in a cross-border drug trafficking operation that resulted in numerous arrests in October 2011 after an extensive drug investigation by law enforcement agencies in Canada and the U.S.

After many years of not having time during a busy career, retired teacher Ron Toles will be a candidate for council in the upcoming civic elections in Swift Current Oct. 24.

After a positive experience during his first term as a City of Swift Current councillor, it was an easy decision for Dan Martens to stand for a second term in the upcoming Oct. 24 civic elections.
