Starting Oct. 15, SGI’s Swift Current branch office will be temporarily relocated in the Swift Current Mall.

The Public Health department of the Cypress Health Region has declared there is an Outbreak situation has been declared for the Swift Current Care Centre, under the direction of the Consulting Medical Health Officer.   Unfortunately visitor restrictions have been implemented at the facility until further notice.

A new company, FNA Fertilizer Limited Partnership (FNA FLP), has been created to provide a vehicle for farmers to own a stake in a new fertilizer manufacturing plant, and the company has determined that the Swift Current area will play a key role.

The upcoming civic elections on Oct. 24 will see all six City of Swift Current councillors standing for re-election.

Building relationships has always been an important part of Jayson Sletten’s sales career and he hopes it will help him to get elected to council during the Oct. 24 civic elections in Swift Current.

BATCO wins SCBEX Business of the Year award

The Swift Current & District Chamber of Commerce announced Batco Manufacturing as the recipient of the SCBEX – Spirit of Swift Current award for Member Business of the Year at a presentation at the facility on Oct 2.

The main entrance of the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current will soon be a hub of activity, as the construction of the covered walkway project is set to begin on Tuesday, October 9th.  

Saskatchewan NDP leadership hopeful Trent Wotherspoon recently spent a day in Swift Current to talk to residents about his vision for the province.

CFIB: Swift Current improves in property tax fairness

With the October 24th municipal elections fast approaching, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) released its annual comparison of property tax gaps between Saskatchewan’s residential and commercial property owners. CFIB’s report reveals very little progress has been made in narrowing the municipal property tax gaps from 2010 levels.
