The 5th Annual Safety Breakfast at Great Plains College is set to be hosted on March 21. The free hot breakfast is open to all clients, current or interested, who are looking for safety training for themselves or their company.

The Saskatchewan Party's Everett Hindley became the new MLA for Swift Current after the March 1 by-election.

The Jean Norman Provincial Skating Competition is coming to Fairview Arenas in Swift Current March 2-4.

Potash train derails west of Swift Current

The derailment of a potash train west of Swift Current shut down the railway line for less than 24 hours as crews worked overnight to clear and repair the track.

A Swift Current resident has started a GoFundMe campaign to sponsor a refugee family from Syria after visiting a refugee camp in Lebanon.

The City of Swift Current will allow the establishment of two cannabis retail stores in the community, but it intends to restrict the stores to the downtown area and to only allow industrial cultivation in the city's industrial zones.

Great Plains College held its Swift Current Campus Winter Scholarship Reception on February 26.

The Swift Current and Area Ministerial Association (SCAMA) Refugee Committee continues to provide support to a number of refugee families in the city and the group is preparing to sponsor another family to come to Swift Current.
