Nomination finalists for the coveted Tourism Saskatchewan Awards were announced February 23, 2018 and this year included three members of the Cypress Hills Destination Area Inc. nominated in four categories, including:

The Historic Reesor Ranch, Cypress Hills -  Business of the Year Award (Under 20 Employees)
The Historic Reesor Ranch, Cypress Hills  - Fred Heal Tourism Ambassador Award
Ghostown Blues Bed and Breakfast, Maple Creek - Service Excellence Award
Grotto Gardens Country Market, Maple Creek  - Fred Heal Tourism Ambassador Award.

A list of 33 finalists were taken from 100 nominations received in the 12 award categories that acknowledge quality in marketing, service, business practices, human resource development and other areas.

The finalists and award recipients will be honoured at the 29th annual Saskatchewan Tourism Awards of Excellence Gala, which will be celebrated on April 12 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Regina. The three recipients of the Tourism Builder Award will also be recognized that night.

The Saskatchewan Tourism Awards of Excellence Gala will be a highlight of the HOST Saskatchewan Conference, which is also taking place on April 12 in Regina. The conference is the province’s largest assembly of tourism representatives.

"Each of the finalists from our Area are at the top of their field, and very deserving of their finalist status," says Cypress Hills Destination Area, Executive Director, Gail Kesslar. "The award nominations are a testament to the exciting growth and innovation our member businesses are exhibiting here in the Cypress Hills Destination Area and each of these businesses have showcased that innovation in their own unique way."
