Grasslands National Park and Val Marie celebrating Canada’s 150th

Canada 150 Celebrations are being presented by the Village of Val Marie and Grasslands National Park slated for July 28-30. Kick off the weekend Friday in Val Marie by welcoming hometown NHL hockey legend Bryan Trottier, followed by an evening of dinner and entertainment.


Enjoy a pancake breakfast, parade and local marketplace in Val Marie Saturday morning before heading to the Frenchman Valley Campground for kayaking, wagon rides, a kids activity pavilion, bison facility tours, archery and more. Pre-register a team for the ball hockey tournament and battle it out for the title. Dance the afternoon away and into the evening at the outdoor concert with Guy and the Fellas, local band Navajo, and Buckshot.
Friday July 28 — Val Marie
2 p.m. Book Launch The Grasslanders Ranch stories from Grasslands National Park by local Author Thelma Poirier; 3 p.m. Val Marie Historical Walking Tour; 6 p.m. Dinner, entertainment, fundraiser auction with guest speaker Bryan Trottier.  Come see a collection of his trophies including the Calder, Hart, Art Ross, King Clancy, Conn Smythe. Children’s activities, fun for the whole family. Cost dinner: $25/adult, $10/child 10 and younger.
Saturday July 29 — Val Marie
8-10 a.m. Pancake Breakfast; 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Mainstreet Outdoor Market; 10:30 a.m. Parade. Cost Pancake breakfast: $5/person.
Grasslands National Park Activities at the Frenchman Valley Campground starting at 2 p.m. Ball hockey tournament, Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame Travelling Exhibit, kayaking, bison facility tours, wagon rides, archery, children’s activity pavilion, outdoor concerts featuring Guy and the Fellas, Navajo, Buckshot and more.
Register your team for the ball hockey tournament. Cost: $10.80/adult, $4.90/child, five and younger free.
Ticket price does not include camping. Food concession and beer gardens available.
Sunday July 30th — Val Marie
9 a.m.-12 p.m. Farewell reception with Bryan Trottier, get your autograph and picture with the legend. Cost farewell: By donation.

Event ticket fees do not include camping fees. In the event the campground is fully reserved, all people wishing to camp will be accommodated in the overflow areas.
You can self-register for overflow camping upon arrival, reservations are not necessary.
