Oyen arrest man after vehicle reported stolen

Oyen RCMP have charged one man following the report of a stolen vehicle on June 7.  Investigation resulted in locating and recovering the vehicle by the RCMP.


At 3:37 p.m. Oyen RCMP were made aware of the theft of vehicle south of Acadia Valley. With the assistance of the vehicle owner, the truck was located shortly after by police.  29-year-old James Robert Stuart was arrested without incident.
Stuart has been charged with Theft of truck and Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. 

At the time of his arrest, Stuart was on release conditions and now faces a further charge of Fail to comply with conditions of an undertaking.
A bail hearing has been set over as Stuart is to appear by closed circuit televison (CCTV) in Didsbury on Monday June 11th, 2018.
The RCMP want to remind citizens that everyone plays a role in Crime Prevention.  You know your neighbourhoods better than anyone.  If you see someone or something that doesn't belong, call the police.  Your call may save a life or lead to an arrest.
