SouthGrow hosts informational meeting May 30

SouthGrow, Alberta SouthWest, Lethbridge Economic Development, and RINSA are hosting a Netherlands trade officer Maarten den Ouden on May 30 in Lethbridge.


den Ouden will be talking about waste management and bio energy, and what’s happening across the pond to innovate in this space. He’s also looking to build relationships and trade relationships.
Alberta SouthWest, Economic Development Lethbridge and Southgrow in partnership with the Southern Alberta Alternative Energy Partnership (SAAEP) and the Regional Innovation Network of Southern Alberta (RINSA) will have this presentation and discussion on opportunities for waste management and bio energy in southern Alberta.
The event is on May 30th from 10:30 a.m.–1 p.m. at the tecconnect - Centre of Excellence for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (3582 - 30 Street North) Lethbridge.

den Oudenis is from the Consulate General of the Netherlands who will talk about the challenges facing agricultural regions in the Netherlands during the 1990's and outline the steps taken to drive improved sustainability as well as create a successful economic model. Mr. den Ouden will share examples of different regional strategies and resulting successes, failures and lessons learned.
According to SouthGrow "den Ouden seeks to build connections between Canada and the Netherlands through his 8 years in international business development and 4 years in urban development management and by leveraging his experience and creativity in new projects related to sustainable building and planning, sustainable energy, waste management, transportation and logistics."
A question and answer session followed by a light lunch and networking opportunity will round out the event.
