Traffic flow on Highway 1 has now resumed and the fog has lifted west of Brooks.

Brooks RCMP were kept busy this morning with three multi-vehicle collisions in a short period of time. At 8:30 am, Brooks RCMP were dispatched to collision between three semis; one hauling bales, one empty cattle liner and one empty tanker. One person was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries as a result of this collision.

While en route that collision, Brooks RCMP received reports of another collision, this time on Hwy 1 at range road 150. This time, a loaded cattle liner was struck by 2 semi tractor trailer units. 3 people were transported to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Approximately 20 cattle died or were euthanized as a result of the collision and several more were loose on the highway and had to be rounded up and contained.

A short time later, another collision occurred, this time on the outskirts of Brooks on Highway 1. This collision involved another semi and an SUV but was more minor in nature and no one was injured as a result.

Foggy conditions at the time contributed to the collision and Brooks RCMP wish to thank the public for their patience and assistance during the response to these events.
