The 8th annual Cramer Ag Expo took place at Kinetic Exhibition Park in Swift Current, Feb. 22.

The event is an opportunity for producers to interact with a variety of agricultural suppliers.

There were 110 booths at this year's event and 88 exhibitors participated in the expo, with the larger exhibitors using multiple booths. As in previous years the event was well attended and a total of 500 lunch tickets were sold.

A highlight of the expo is the Cramer Cup competition series with awards for entrants in the egg grading and hog carcass competitions. The top five hog carcasses were auctioned for charity and the grand champion hog from Smiley Hutterite Colony was sold for $3,500.

The charity fundraising auction at the event raised a total of $17,800. A variety of organizations benefited from the auction, including STARS Ambulance, the Salvation Army and Kids Help Phone. The beneficiaries of this year's donation of fresh pork from Hutterite colonies were the Canadian Mental Health Association, and the Salvation Army branches in Regina and Swift Current.
