UFA launches new contest for Alta. communities

Pay-it-forward has become a habit for some people, but now it’s a way to help communities win money from the UFA Co-operative Limited “Rural From The Roots Up, Get ‘n’ Give” contest.

Those who are concerned about the future of the agriculture industry should have taken some time to take in some of the Feeding a Hungry Planet Youth Ag-Summit held in Calgary Aug. 19-25.

The cattle industry will be experiencing a turnover in a few years as many of today's older ranchers and cattle producers retire or move on.

Southern Alberta is looking good crop-wise

While it’s not over yet, it’s looking like there will be a lot of pleased farmers with an excellent harvest in southern Alberta this year, according to Alberta Agriculture.

Crops generally look decent in the southeast. That is in part due to some good weather after what started out as a wet, cool spring.
