Birds of a feather are Castle royalty for counters

This winter season didn’t just bring with it the cold, but also the first annual Christmas bird count at Castle Provincial Park on Jan. 6.

Long-time Swift Current resident Marie Nodge celebrated her 100th birthday on Jan. 8 by enjoying some coffee and cake with visitors and well-wishers, but she also continued a regular habit to go for a walk around the retirement complex, which took her about 20 minutes.

Great Plains College, in partnership with Southwest Literacy Committee, will celebrate Family Literacy Day on Jan. 26.

The entire board and staff of the Swift Current & District Chamber of Commerce have completed their training and certification to receive their Safe Places – Youth Certified cards.

The West Wind Gymnastics Club is summersaulting into action this January as they host the Battle at the Bridge Invitational.
