The annual ceremonial review of the three Swift Current cadet corps took place at the Fairview School gymnasium, May 12. The reviewing officer was Canadian Armed Forces veteran and Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 56 President Harvey Wiebe, who took the general salute and inspected the #259 Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Drylander, #605 Royal Canadian Air Cadet Tarry Squadron, and #128 Navy League Cadet Corps Prairie Schooner. This was followed by a march past and a drill demonstration. There was then a break in the official proceedings to give audience members an opportunity to look at the different presentations set up by the cadets to highlight their activities and the air cadets gave an outdoor demonstration of a bottle rocket launch. Formal proceedings then continued with the presentation of awards to cadets. The Royal Canadian Sea Cadets Saskatchewan Division Chairperson Gord Basaraba presented commemorative challenge coins to all the sea cadets and their commanding officers and staff in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the sea cadets. Cadets presented a hand-made quilt from Quilts of Valour to reviewing officer Harvey Wiebe. The event concluded with remarks by the reviewing officer and the general salute.
